FierceWireless Readers Put CEO Fabrizio Capobianco’s Mobile Open Source Blog in Top 20

Redwood City, Calif., November 13, 2006 — Funambol, the mobile open source company, today announced that the FierceWireless readers have chosen CEO Fabrizio Capobianco’s blog, Mobile Open Source (http://www.funambol.com/blog/capo/), as one of the 20 best blogs in the wireless industry.

Over the course of the last 30 days, FierceWireless readers were asked to vote for their favorite wireless blogs. The daily electronic publication indicated that there were thousands of votes spanning nearly 80 blogs that contributed to the final FierceFavorite list of the Top 20 Wireless Industry Blogs.

“Blogging is a natural extension of the open source community and a source of industry chatter, so being recognized for having one of the best wireless blogs is a real honor,” said Fabrizio Capobianco, CEO of Funambol.

Capobianco is a frequent blogger. He posts on the most important wireless-related topics of the day, bridging mobile market dynamics and open source software. His fundamental belief is that mobile open source will usher in mass consumer adoption of mobile services, specifically mobile email, that will take carrier revenues to a new level.

Capobianco is a serial entrepreneur and veteran executive at Reuters and Tibco. He co- founded mobile open source company Funambol and leads the company’s operations as CEO. He founded the first Italian Web company, Internet Graffiti, and Stigma Online, developer of an information portal product with customers that included Kraft, Novartis, Italian Broadcasting Television and the Italian Stock Exchange. Capobianco has taught courses on wireless and mBusiness strategies at the University of Pavia in Italy, his alma mater, where he received his Ph.D. in computer science.
