myFUNAMBOL, now with Mobile Ads

myFUNAMBOL provides free mobile email and over-the-air sync of contacts and calendars. It supports 1.5 billion phones, including the iPhone, Android, BlackBerry, Windows Mobile and feature phones. It lets phones sync with desktop clients such as Outlook and get email from Yahoo!, Gmail, AOL and Hotmail as well as POP and IMAP servers. It performs over-the-air setup of many phones and includes a cloud-based address book and calendar for viewing and managing this information online.

myFUNAMBOL provides mobile ads on certain phones, such as Nokia S60. Users of these devices will see ads in various locations in their Funambol mobile email client. The ads are part of a trial service to learn how they can be delivered in a mobile email and sync solution. For iPhone users, myFUNAMBOL provides access to their myFUNAMBOL address book on their phone, allowing them to view contacts from multiple sources and use them to place calls, send email and map locations. myFUNAMBOL is not intended to substitute for Internet portals or for mobile services provided by Funambol customers. Rather, it is a demonstration site that illustrates how Funambol enables 1.5 billion phones to easily perform mobile email and sync. It is in beta as it often includes new software that Funambol deploys for testing and feedback. If you encounter any difficulties, please post a note on the myFUNAMBOL help forum. The forum is the way to get a response from Funambol or our community. As myFUNAMBOL is a demo site, we cannot address every issue, however, we will attempt to respond, resources permitting. You may want to search the forum for a similar issue to see if it has been resolved.

Please also note that while myFUNAMBOL can perform push email using multiple methods for 1.5 billion phones on hundreds of networks, as this is a demonstration site, push email is only enabled for selected devices and networks. Use of myFUNAMBOL is free, however, if you perform over-the-air sync, you need a data plan from your mobile operator. Without one, you may incur costly data charges.
