I have a mobile device. Is it supported?

In theory, all SyncML compliant mobile devices are supported. However, the world is not perfect and some devices may misbehave. Check here to see if your device is on the certified list.

The Funambol Server is fully SyncML compliant and is verified at OMA TestFests. On top of this, Funambol supports a technology called Synclets which let developers manipulate the SyncML messages to deal with buggy or mostly-compliant devices. Synclets can even be deployed in the Funambol Server when it is running, without the need to shut down users.

If you do experience a problem with a device, do not forget that with all the people using Funambol, someone before you may have experienced the same problem and possibly fixed it. Check the mailing lists first. We have a device database, where the community can help share its knowledge. Funambol is a robust mobile server because a lot of people are constantly using it and help improve it. No commercial product will ever get close to the amount of testing by our community.

Is a special Funambol client required on the Blackberry?

The Funambol community provides a plug-in for BlackBerry that enables the device to work with a Funambol server for synchronizing PIM data. It works with the device's native applications. There is also a Funambol BlackBerry client for push email. You can download the plug-in and client here.

What is the status of Funambol support for BlackBerry for push email?

The latest version of the Funambol client for BlackBerry is v7. It is generally available (GA) and can be downloaded from the downloads page. It supports push email with consumer email services such as Yahoo! Mail, AOL Mail, Hotmail, Gmail and any POP or IMAP server.
